"An Investment in Quality"
Heims Construction Co.

What does QUALITY mean?

Many people talk about QUALITY – quality materials, quality service and quality construction practices. How do you determine quality?

In terms of new construction and remodeling, quality begins with the foundation. A person may not be able to see quality in the foundation or footing work but it needs to exist. Poor concrete work may be the first sign of poor quality within a project.

The framing of the structure should be plumb and straight to facilitate the smooth operation of doors and windows after installation. If this holds true throughout the project, the installation of all materials will be easier and more satisfying.

The same attention to detail and workmanship is to be expected in roofs and siding. The joints in siding should be tightly fitted and caulked, flashing correctly installed and roof coverings carefully laid. Quality workmanship is the key.

Interior quality is easy to measure. Observe the trim work around doors, windows and along baseboards. All joints should be tight with no gaps to indicate poor craftsmanship.

Doors and windows should all work freely and effortlessly. They should fit with close tolerances and a tight seal against outside air.

Quality work in any construction project isn’t difficult to notice. Look for some of the items mentioned above.

If you are planning a new or remodel project in the future, request some references from your prospective contractors. Visit some of the jobs and talk to customers that they have done work for.

It is your investment of money and time so give your building project all that should be expected. This being quality materials, workmanship and ultimate craftsmanship by your builder.

COMMITMENT

Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intensions. And the actions which speak louder than the words.

It is making the time when there is none. Coming through time after time, year after year.

Commitment is the stuff character is made of: the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.
